Fr Mike was born in the Philippines on 29 April 1968, the fifth child of eight children, having two brothers and five sisters.
He has a Bachelor in Sacred Theology from Ateneo De Manila University Loyola School of Theology in Philippines and a BA in Philosophy.
He was ordained on 18 January 1997.
He has been a Parochial Vicar of the following parishes in Bataan, Philipines: St Dominic Parish, Abucay; Cathedral Parish, Balanga City; St John the Baptist Parish, Dinalupihan and Holy Rosary Parish, Orani. He has served as Vicarial Youth Director of the Vicariate of St Dominic and Director of Bp Celso Guevarra Formation Center. He moved to NZ in August 2009 and after a short stay at Balmoral Parish, was assigned to St Joseph’s Parish, Takapuna as assistant priest.
His interests include music, reading, fishing and computers.

In the Hibiscus Coast Parish the Priest is responsible for 'priestly duties' and the parishioners have responsibility for a broad range of pastoral duties and activities.
Five parish committees guide and assist more than 50 special interest groups.
These committees are:
Care:
Responsible for the social and physical well being of our parishioners. Alcoholics Anonymous, Care & Share, Legion of Mary, are some of the groups working under this umbrella. Please refer to Parish Council Representatives: Tom Sellmeyer and Jan Kingston.

Communications:
This committee is responsible for monitoring communication within the parish and externally. It is responsible for the website and publishing 'The Link' magazine. Contact person: Peter Watt – 424 7416

Community & Hospitality Team (CHAT) - St Francis:
Team responsible for the general upkeep and effective functioning of facilities at St Francis church, for community building, hospitality and catering for
funerals and functions. Contact person: Peter Downer - 424 7156.
Finance & Maintenance Committee:
Primarily concerned with helping the parish priest in fulfilling the Mission Statement of the church in terms of resourcing, planning, accounting for, administering and safeguarding parish income, expenditure and assets. It is responsible for the maintenance of parish property and the planning and supervision of required building projects. This small but dedicated team is led by John Perris (chairperson) - 424 3107.
Liturgy:
The Liturgy Committee has an overall responsibility to ensure the liturgies are planned and celebrated in the proper manner and that the worship needs of the parish are met. Chair of the Liturgy Committee is Anne Turner – (09 420 4658). Secretary is John Bower – 424 2045

Youth Committee:
With more and more people moving to the Hibiscus Coast to live this committee has seen its responsibilities grow in recent times. Youth Committee Currently in Recess.

Parish Catering Team:
Cater for funerals, senior birthdays, anniversaries, morning/afternoon teas baptisms and confirmations. Menus and prices available on request.
